Submit your own proposal for a presentation as well – proposal deadline is FEBRUARY 1. Click here for the submission form. Proposals will be peer-reviewed. The pre-conference workshop is a new feature of this year’s symposium. Join Dr. Jackie Dewar of Loyola Marymount University, a former Carnegie Foundation CASTL scholar, for an intense, engaging afternoon about doing publishable research into student learning in your own classroom or lab. No extra charge. Limited to 40 participants, register early. Our plenary speaker is Dr. Ed Prather of Arizona State University. Ed and his colleagues (including Cal Poly Pomona’s own Alex Rudolph) have shown conclusively that interactive learning and classroom engagement help students to learn better, even in huge classes.
